I'm dying to enjoy this game as it should be enjoyed, but unless I can get the graphics issue resolved, I'm likely to put it aside and hope for future patches to help me out. And when I exit out of the game, invariably it has crashed and prepared an error log for Apple. Makes it hard to interact w/ dialogue options. There's also problems w/ the mouse cursor after a fight, staying as an hourglass. EDIT: just realized w/out a MacBook Pro, I don't have 2 GPUs to begin w/, so it looks like we have separate issues after all. gfxCardStatus doesnt work if you are connected to an external display on the MBP6,2. gfxCardStatus places a small icon in the menu bar and displays a. gfxCardStatus allows you to choose the which chipset you want to remain active so that you can extend battery life and maximize power manually. I have tried gfxCardStatus but it doesnt seem to work properly - I cant uncheck discrete graphics and if I try to switch to integrated only it usually switches back immediately to discrete (even though the i icon is showed in the menu). ![]() You can select from multiple options on the software menu to display the different cards that are running, such as integrated-only mode, desktop mode, or discrete mode. Some info about the issue: NSApplicationDidChangeScreenParametersNotification is still fired when apps open that should cause a switch. I love the gameplay and the humorous dialogue, but not sure I can continue playing. It seems that I have found more reliable or permanent software solution allowing to permanently disable discrete GPU and use mbp (mine is Mbp 8.3 17i early 2011) with broken discrete GPU (failing to boot) than gfxCardStatus 1.8-2.2.1, namely. MacBook Pros with nVidia graphics cards are great for gaming but the power hungry graphics cards drain your battery when not in use. The setup is quite simple: just download the gfxcardstatus, install it and then let it run to identify which graphics card is running. I've restarted the computer maxed out all the graphics options (and minimized them as well)-no change. I can see the figures and game world, but they're kind of washed out, like the textures are all on bare bones settings. ![]() I'm disappointed to find out that WotN has problems, even after ostensibly 2 patches. Those games ran pretty well, though I had some occasional crash-to-desktop issues w/ KB: TL. I just bought this game (my 1st Steam game ever) last night, after playing and loving the earlier KB: AP & KB: TL, also on Mac. Manually switching to the built-in Intel GPU with a utility such as gfxCardStatus can also help extend the life of the discrete AMD GPU.
